Navy Birthday Challenge: Swim Your Way to Celebration!

Join us for a season-long swimming challenge honoring the 250th Birthday of the United States Navy! This challenge encourages participants ages 12 and up to get active and celebrate our nation's maritime heritage.

The Challenge Begins May 1st and Runs Throughout the Swim Season!
Open to MWR patrons with base access who meet the participant age and skill requirements below.

Choose Your Challenge:

  • Adult Challenge (18+): Conquer the Quarter Million!

    • Goal: Swim a total of 250,000 yards (5,000 laps) throughout the season.
    • Pace yourself and achieve a significant fitness milestone while honoring the Navy's legacy of endurance and perseverance.
  • Youth Challenge (Ages 12-17): Make Waves!

    • Goal: Swim a total of 25,000 yards (500 laps) throughout the season.
    • A fantastic opportunity for young swimmers to set and achieve personal fitness goals, build healthy habits, and enjoy friendly camaraderie.
    • Must be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards independently.
    • Youth will share a lane in the shallow end.

This challenge offers a unique aquatic opportunity to:

  • Challenge yourself physically.
  • Contribute to a greater cause by celebrating the Navy's milestone.
  • Promote endurance, physical health, and a spirit of perseverance.
  • Foster camaraderie among participants.

Start Date: May 1st and continues all season long!
